Delegate Resources

Topic Research

As MPHMUN is the first conference of the year for many delegates, one of our objectives is to give new delegates a chance to improve and get a feel for what MUN is like while also offering more experienced delegates an opportunity to brush up on their skills.

Sources such as BBC, the New York Times, the Guardian, and al-Jazeera (which can be very helpful if you are representing a Middle Eastern nation) are credible sources that provide general overviews of the topics. For a more in-depth look at the topics, we recommend reading reports from various UN bodies relating to the topic, along with reports by think tanks, such as the Council on International Relations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Another tip for researching is control-f, a tool that allows you to search specific keywords related to your topic in a large document or pdf.

A note on Wikipedia use: delegates should not use Wikipedia as their primary source of information. However, Wikipedia can be useful for obtaining external links that are often very valuable sources of information on the topic.
