Manlius Pebble Hill School
Student Council President
Name: Annie Weiss
Parent(s): Dr. Robert and Lisa Weiss
Hometown: Lafayette
My plans for next few years: Cornell University
My career plans: I hope to pursue social entrepreneurship. I would like to start a company that has a mission related to the food system, whether that means food loss/waste, food security, food access and/or food quality.
What I have enjoyed the most about high school: I love MPH. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to attend such a fantastic school. My favorite thing about MPH has been the community. Since MPH is so small, I’ve been able to have amazing relationships with the faculty and students, and I love all of the MPH traditions.
My favorite quote: “Win today.”– Dr. Jeffrey Mangram (Model United Nations coach at MPH)
Who has inspired me the most: My classmates
My advice to my graduating class: I believe that everyone of my classmates is amazing and can achieve their goals, they just have to believe in themselves.
What I do to unwind or relax: Hang out with friends/family, ski, play tennis, and more recently (since I have a little more free time), I read. In the summer, I like to volunteer at St. Joseph’s hospital, everyone is so nice. It’s a really great community.
The word or phrase that best describes my personality: Determined and affable
How I want my classmates to remember me: My willingness to help others and excitement over seemingly trivial activities/things.
One thing I hope to accomplish in my lifetime: I hope to own a successful company that has the capacity to enact social change.
