DRIVER EDUCATION
Summer 2026

Summer 2026 – Registration opens March 1 at 9:00 a.m.

Give your teen the skills and confidence they need to become a safe, responsible driver. Our Driver Education program helps students build strong driving habits early while preparing them for real-world road situations.

  • Only way to qualify for an upgraded license at age 17
  • Builds safe driving habits from the start
  • Reduces crash risk
  • Boosts confidence behind the wheel
  • Teaches road rules and laws
  • Strengthens decision-making and awareness

A smart investment in your teen’s safety — and your peace of mind.

Driver Education begins June 29 and runs for 8 weeks on the MPH campus. Students must be 16 years old by the start of the program and possess a valid driving permit. Students attend theory and drive classes twice a week, 1.5 hours each class/drive (six hours per week), for 8 weeks to complete the required 24 hours of in-class and in-car requirements regulated and approved through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Theory classes and behind-the-wheel instruction taught by certified driver education instructors. Space is limited.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive an MV-285 Student Certificate of Completion from New York State. This certificate includes the NY pre-licensing 5-hour course requirements, an insurance reduction certificate, and allows 17-year-old drivers to upgrade to a senior license. Our goal is to teach our students to be the most responsible, safe drivers possible.

Course Fee: $650
Cancellation/Refund Policy for Driver Education: Cancellation must be made by June 15 at noon for a refund less a $50 non-refundable deposit. There will be no refunds for cancellations after June 15 at noon.
