Manlius Pebble Hill students present musical ‘The Me Nobody Knows’ March 27-28
Students of Manlius Pebble Hill School will perform “The Me Nobody Knows,” a Tony-nominated and OBIE Award-winning, ground-breaking musical, as their spring 2020 show.
Within the envelope of a single day, the show poetically examines the aspirations and fears of a multi-racial cast of young people.
Inspired by actual writings of students in the New York City Public Schools, the stories are universal, and can be shared by and with all races. The powerful and contemporary score carries and propels each individual’s journey.
The show depicts the raw and candid experience of a demographic that has not otherwise found a voice in musical theater. Those voices are brought to life through beautiful music, inspired poetry and affecting dance.
The spirit and themes of the show, despite having been written nearly 50 years ago, feel completely relevant through today’s lens.
Reserved seating tickets are $15 and can be purchased online.
Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, and will be performed in the school’s Coville Theater, 5300 Jamesville Road, Syracuse, NY 13214.
