Driver Education (In-person Only – MPH Campus)
Driver Education begins June 26 and runs 8 weeks. Students must be 16 years old by June 26 and possess a valid driving permit. Students attend theory and drive classes twice a week, 1.5 hours each class/drive (six hours per week), for 8 weeks to complete the required 24 hours of in-class and in-car requirements regulated and approved through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Theory classes and behind-the-wheel instruction taught by certified driver education instructors.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive an MV-285 Student Certificate of Completion from New York State. This certificate includes the NY pre-licensing 5-hour course requirements, an insurance reduction certificate, and allows 17-year-old drivers to upgrade to a senior license. Our goal is to teach our students to be the most responsible, safe drivers possible.
