Extended Day & Enrichment Programs

MPH offers a comprehensive extended day program designed to support families with flexible, high-quality care before and after the school day.

Beyond daily supervision, MPH extends its after-school experience through a variety of enrichment opportunities that allow students to explore interests, build skills, and stay engaged in a meaningful way.

Extended Day Program

Our extended day program provides a safe, familiar environment for students at the beginning and end of the school day. Students have time to:

Complete homework or reading
Participate in supervised play and activities
Relax and transition comfortably between school and home

Programs are staffed by MPH faculty and trained caregivers who know and support our students well.

After School Enrichment

Throughout the year, MPH offers a rotating selection of after school clubs and enrichment programs for students across grade levels.

These programs are designed to go beyond traditional aftercare by providing structured, interest-based experiences such as:

Arts and creative expression
Athletics and movement-based activities
STEM and problem-solving programs
Strategy-based learning (e.g., chess, logic, math)
Leadership and personal development

Clubs are typically led by MPH faculty or expert instructors and run in seasonal sessions (fall, winter, and spring). Offerings vary each term based on student interest and availability.

Program Format

While specific offerings change each session, enrichment programs generally include:

Weekly scheduled sessions after school
Small group, age-appropriate instruction
Hands-on, skill-building experiences
Optional registration separate from extended day

Spaces in enrichment programs are often limited and may fill quickly.

Current Offerings

Fall After School Clubs- September and October 2026

Art Club – Fine Art Fun Drawing and Painting for Grades K-5

Dates: Wednesdays, November 4-December 16 (No club on 11/11 and 11/25)

Time: 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Cost: $140

Calling All artists! Students will enjoy drawing and painting using a variety of art supplies including chalk and oil pastels, watercolors, acrylic and tempera paint. Students will draw and paint using inspirations such as animals, sea life, nature studies and abstract design. Drawing and painting skills will be taught along with color mixing, mixed media techniques and composition. Students will bring home a mounted and completed piece of art each week. Instructor: Art Teacher Mrs. Michaeline Gleasman

Chess Club for Grades 1-8

Dates: Tuesdays, November 10-December 15 (No club on 11/24)

Time: 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Cost: $95

The MPH Chess Club is the most successful, award-winning chess program in Central New York. The MPH Chess Team has won no less than seven tournaments, with team members winning several individual chess championships. Chess also helps keep thinking and reasoning skills in shape throughout the school year. Coach Bob Nasiff is a U.S. Chess Federation nationally rated chess master with over 30 years of instructional experience. Many of his students have won chess championship titles at the local, state, and national levels.

Cubing Club for Grades 4-8

Dates: Mondays, November 9-December 14 (No club on 11/23)

Time: 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Cost: $95

Never solved a Rubik’s Cube before? Already solving faster than your friends? Cubing Club is for everyone! Beginners will learn how to solve a 3×3 cube step by step. With a little time, practice, and patience, our goal is for every new cuber to complete a solve by the end of the club!

Already know how to solve a cube? Take on a new challenge! Work on your speed, learn new techniques, experiment with 3×3 challenges, or tackle a 4×4, 5×5, or another puzzle entirely. Bring your own puzzles if you have them, and everyone who signs up will receive a new speed cube of their own to use and keep. Whether your goal is your first solve or your fastest one yet, there is always another puzzle waiting to be solved! Instructor: MPH Science Teacher Mr. Estrada

Miori Martial Arts for Grades K-5

Dates: Thursdays, November 5-December 10 (No club on 11/26)

Time: 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Fee: $95

Miori Martial Arts is designed to help your child learn basic Karate techniques, discipline, and respect. Classes are taught in a positive, fun atmosphere by Sensei Eric.

Six weeks of lessons include an official uniform (for new students, only Miori Martial Arts uniforms can be used).

MPH Science Shenanigans for Grades 1-3

Dates: Thursdays, October 22-November 19

Time: 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Fee: $110

Science can look an awful lot like magic when you know how to make things bubble, stretch, squish, flow, and transform! In Science Shenanigans, young scientists will get hands-on exploring the fun side of science through experiments and activities designed to make them wonder, “How did THAT happen?”

Make your own slime, investigate the strange not-quite-liquid, not-quite-solid world of oobleck, and explore plenty of other scientific shenanigans along the way. Have an experiment you’ve always wanted to try or a science question you’ve always wondered about? Bring your ideas, too! We’ll experiment, make predictions, get a little messy, and discover the real science behind the magic happening right in front of us.
