Theatre
Theatre at Manlius Pebble Hill
At Manlius Pebble Hill, theater is more than putting on a show. It is a place where students find their voice, take creative risks, and discover what they are capable of. From the first rehearsal to opening night, the MPH stage is a space where every student is welcomed, challenged, and celebrated.
A Full Season of Performance
Middle and Upper School students participate in a rich season of musicals and plays, with productions that range from classic works to contemporary pieces. Each season is thoughtfully selected to stretch students creatively and offer meaningful roles and responsibilities for participants at every level. Whether stepping into a lead role or contributing behind the scenes, every student plays an essential part in bringing a production to life.
On Stage and Behind the Scenes
Theatre at MPH is a complete experience. Students develop skills across every dimension of production – acting, vocal performance, movement, and character development on stage, and lighting, sound, set design, costuming, and stage management off it. No matter where a student’s interests lie, there is a place for them in our program.
What Students Gain
The skills developed through theatre at MPH extend far beyond the stage. Students leave each production with:
- Greater confidence in public speaking and self-expression
- The ability to collaborate, listen, and adapt in a team setting
- Discipline and time management built through the rehearsal process
- Creative problem-solving skills that carry into every aspect of life
- A deep sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing a vision through to performance
A Community Built on Collaboration
MPH theatre is defined by its culture. Students and faculty work side by side as genuine creative partners, building productions that reflect the talent, effort, and care of everyone involved. Older students mentor younger students. First-timers are welcomed and supported. The result is a community that is as meaningful as the work it produces.
