Local high school team wins acclaim in London at Model UN conference

The Model United Nations team from Manlius Pebble Hill School in DeWitt was named Best Medium-Sized Delegation at the recent London International Model UN Conference.

The 17 students on the team also won eight major awards and commendations at the competition, which involves mainly college teams and a few select high school teams.

MPH students competed against 1,504 students from 53 countries and and more than 200 universities at the international event, held in late February.

Opening ceremonies for the conference were held in Central Hall Westminster, where the first United Nations session took place in 1946.
