Grades 7-12 New Student Orientation and Welcome | 1:00 – 4:15 p.m.
Students new to MPH entering Grades 7-12 are invited Monday, August 29 from 1:00 – 4:15 p.m. to an Orientation and Welcome that will also include new employees of the School. This will be an opportunity for some of our community’s newest members to meet each other and get a preview of what life will be like for them at MPH this year. MPH Back-to-School Picnic
The MPH Back-to-School Picnic returns this year and features opportunities for new students and families, as well as returning students and families in all grades to connect, socialize, and mingle with MPH teachers and staff before the start of the school year.
The picnic itself runs from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., but special sessions are offered prior to 5:00 p.m.
Grade 6 Orientation | 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
In addition to reconnecting with returning classmates and welcoming new friends, Grade 6 students will meet with their advisors, receive their schedules, and walk through a typical school day. Any student or family that cannot attend can set up an alternative time to meet with Middle School Head Matt Spear by emailing mspear@mphschool.org.
New Family Welcome | 4:30 p.m.
New MPH Families are invited to arrive at 4:30 p.m. to connect with Admissions staff and Parent/Student Ambassadors. MPH Admissions and the MPH Parents’ Association will offer a nametag-making station with “flair” to be added to nametags to identify in which division families have children enrolled.
Lower School Meet and Greet | 5:00 – 5:45 p.m.
Lower School (PreK – 5) will host families in Lower School classrooms where they can meet teachers, see the classrooms, and drop off school supplies from 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. From there, LS families will be able to join the picnic with the entire MPH community.
Middle/Upper School | Come Any Time from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
MS/US students and their families will be invited to join the picnic any time from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Chef Christine and her team will be serving a buffet-style picnic dinner in the dining hall between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. All families will be invited to gather on the upper field, courts, and/or big playground until 7:00 p.m.

Members of the Class of 2023 and Families
Be on the lookout for an email from MPH College Counseling next week regarding registration for student-only, mandatory Back-to-School College Counseling workshops scheduled for the before school starts.
Extended Day, After Hours, and Vacation Coverage
MPH hosts three programs that offer additional coverage for children beyond the school day.
Extended Day is for students in Grades PreK to 5. Information about the program can be found on the Extended Day webpage.
After Hours is offered to students in Grades 6-8. Information can be found on the After Hours webpage.
Vacation Coverage is offered on specific days throughout the year (list of days here). More information can be found on the Extended Day and After Hours webpages.
Health Forms Reminder
As a reminder, emails were sent to Returning Families and New Families with instructions to complete medical forms prior to the start of the school year. Please take a minute this week to be certain that all forms have been completed.
Fall Sports Ultracamp Signup Reminder
Our school platform for registration continues to be UltraCamp. Please note the following dates and information.
Varsity sports (Grades 10-12) start on Monday, August 22
Modified sports (Grades 7-9) start on Wednesday, September 7
9th graders who wish to play soccer at the varsity level should plan to attend pre-season on Aug. 22 with permission from either Coach Goldman or Coach Bentley Hoke
All students (Grades 7-12) playing Tennis or running Cross Country should attend pre-season on Aug. 22.

Practice times during the school year will be after school and are specific to each sport. As communication in a previous email, practice times for the first day of pre-season are listed here.
