Rep. Katko Announces Winner of 2019 Congressional Art Competition

Syracuse, New York — U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced Olivia Bigtree, an 11th grader student at Manlius Pebble Hill School, as the winner of the 2019 Congressional Art Competition for the 24th Congressional District. Her photograph will be on display in the United States Capitol for the next year.

“Thank you to all the talented high school artists who entered pieces in this year’s Congressional Art Competition. My office received many excellent submissions,” said Rep. Katko.

“It is my pleasure to recognize Olivia Bigtree from Nedrow as this year’s winner from the 24th Congressional District. I look forward to seeing her incredible artwork on exhibit in the Capitol next to the winners from across the country.”

Congressman Katko’s offices in Syracuse, Auburn, Oswego, and Lyons received numerous pieces of creative artwork from students throughout Central New York. A panel of esteemed judges selected the winning piece of artwork. Ms. Bigtree and winners from other Congressional Districts will be recognized at a reception in Washington next month.
