MPH Senior Earns Eagle Scout Rank

On September 23rd, 2019, Andrew Benincasa ’20 was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout from the Leatherstocking Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  The Eagle award is the highest award a Scout can achieve.  To receive the Eagle Scout Award, Andrew completed 25 Merit Badges, maintained multiple leadership roles with his Troop, and completed an Eagle Scout Project, all before his 18th birthday.  For his project, Andrew lead a team of volunteers to update the Trenton Greenbelt Pavilion in Trenton, NY.  The improvements included re-staining the building and picnic tables, removing and replacing the bulletin board, improving the visitor sign-in box, and sprucing up the pavilion area.  Andrew had to identify the tasks required, secure supplies and equipment, solicit volunteers, and manage the two-day project.  Andrew has been involved in scouting since he was five years old and is the 109th scout from Troop 55 to achieve the rank of Eagle.

Congrats, Andrew!
