Meet the Secretariat
Nathan Sonnenfeld, Co-Secretary-General
Nathan is a senior at Manlius Pebble Hill looking to pursue strategic management and corporate responsibility in college, with an MBA likely somewhere down the road. He joined MPH’s Model United Nations team as a freshman both to challenge himself and to productively utilize his argumentative tendencies. Since then, he’s discovered a passion for geopolitics and social entrepreneurship. Nathan has enjoyed traveling with MPH’s MUN team to conferences in Beijing, Montreal, and Washington DC, among others. Outside of MUN, Nathan enjoys photography, playing basketball, and socializing. After delegating and chairing over the past three years at the MPHMUN Conference, Nathan is excited to take on the role of Secretary-General for the 20th-anniversary conference.
Daniel Braverman, Co-Secretary-General
Daniel is a senior at Manlius Pebble Hill interested in studying business analytics and management in college. Unlike most other members of the MPHMUN team, Daniel joined it without any prior knowledge about MUN, but has enjoyed delegating all over the world and serving as a chair at MPHMUN. Although he likes to research topics in-depth, Daniel’s favorite aspect of MUN is coming up with and advocating for innovative solutions to complex problems. He hopes to implement tangible solutions in the future, not just words on a resolution. Aside from MUN, Daniel enjoys tennis, cross country, basketball, and writing a satirical advice column in the school magazine. He’s excited for MPHMUN 2019 and using his role as Secretary-General to make it the best one yet.
Peri Cannavo, Co-Under-Secretary-General
Peri is a senior at MPH and is hoping to major in history in college while also continuing her studies of literature, calculus, foreign languages, and more. Ultimately, she’s potentially interested in going into academia or politics. Peri first joined MUN to pursue an interest in international relations and loves learning more about the world through it. She had fun chairing last year at MPHMUN and always enjoys being a delegate and gaining knowledge on new committee topics whether at conferences in the area or farther away. She feels that she has learned a lot about MUN both from chairing and during her time as Under-Secretary General. She also plays soccer and the trombone at school and enjoys reading, skiing, and baking outside of school. She is looking forward to another MPHMUN conference in a new position.
Andrew Benincasa, Co-Under-Secretary-General and Chair Director
Andrew is a senior at MPH looking to study electrical engineering in college while also taking classes in international relations and political science. As a freshman, Andrew joined MPH’s MUN team in order to improve his public speaking skills and pursue his interest in current events and world affairs. Andrew has thoroughly enjoyed MUN, from learning about a plethora of topics to traveling to places like Mexico City, Montreal, and Washington DC to debate pressing issues. Besides MUN, Andrew enjoys playing soccer, ski racing, and various other outdoor activities such as biking and canoeing. For the past three years, Andrew has participated in the MPHMUN Conference both through delegating and chairing. Andrew is greatly enjoying collaborating with the other members of the Secretariat and with his co-Chair Director Maya Heimes.
